Jets Name Whitman’s Rosa Coach of the Week

Whitman football coach Robin Rosa has been named high school coach of the week by the New York Jets.

Rosa will receive a monetary award of $1,000 to benefit the school’s football program. In addition, Rosa will be invited to attend the New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints game on Sunday, Dec. 12. He will receiveluxury suite tickets and  be recognized on field at MetLife Stadium.

The Coach of the Week award is given to a coach in the tri-state area who
serves the best interests of the game through the teaching of sound football fundamentals, the motivation of young players to achieve, and the promotion of youth football by way of dedication to their community, their school, and their student-athletes.

“This award is for the entire program,” Rosa said, attesting this recognition to the combined efforts of his coaching staff, administrators, and athletes.

Rosa has been head coach at Whitman since 2009.He also has been serving as a physical education teacher at Oakwood Primary Center in South Huntington for the last 28 years.
