Suffolk police officers and California Pizza Kitchen staff worked together Friday to help about 55 energetic youngsters make their own pizzas.
The venture into pizza-making was a part of the Second Precinct’s continuing community outreach efforts.
Officers handed out kits with gloves, ingredients, plastic utensils and other items to kids as they arrived at the restaurant. Kids then added the tomato sauce and cheese to pies which were then collected by restaurant staff to be turned into pizzas.
Several elected officials dropped by to greet the youngsters and accompanying parents.
