Scores of children collected Christmas presents Sunday at celebration put together by the Huntington Station Latin Quarter.
Children and their families gathered at the Huntington Assembly of God, where volunteers from Huntington district and other schools, Huntington Matters, and other groups turned out as HSQL founders Laura and Xavier Palacios managed the operation.
Children posed for photos with Santa, who also goes by the name of Jim McGoldrick in Huntington Station, with a range of responses, from beaming smiles to tears.
The giveaway has expanded from about 40 kids the first year 13 years ago to more than 600 this year.
