About: Kids can discover their own super hero skills as they explore the amazing abilities behind ocean champions, as well as the surprising science behind superhero secrets! Campers unleash their creativity and participate in a variety of fun, hands-on activities, including art-making projects. Snack included, bring lunch.

About: It’s Shark Week and we’re celebrating this apex predator with lots of hands-on activities. See a real shark jaw and a Megalodon tooth! Find out about sharks’ amazing senses, and excavate a real shark tooth fossil and turn it into a necklace to wear home.

Where: The Heckscher Museum of Art

Cost: $5 per child.One accompanying adult free. Parents/caregivers are welcome, but not required to stay.
About: For children ages 5 – 10. Young artists are invited to create wonderful works of art under the guidance of professional museum educators this July & August. Each day, children will either paint at an inspiring location in Heckscher Park (weather permitting) or draw, collage, or sculpt in the Museum galleries. Each day will feature a new and exciting project.

About: Looking for a unique, non-competitive summer camp for your children ages 7 to 12 where they can experience history hands-on? The Huntington Historical Society offers its camp, Passport to the Past, each summer to bring history to life.
Campers will be able to wear colonial costumes, play original colonial games, tour historical sites, handle various historical artifacts that typically are viewed only behind glass displays in museums, and enjoy hands-on colonial-era activities

Where: Dix Hills Adventure Camp

Cost: $435 per session w/Recreation ID card. $570 per session w/o Recreation ID card. Includes T-shirt. NO REFUNDS.
About: A full-day camp program on the beautiful Dix Hills Park grounds. The program includes a variety of activities, such as swim instruction, recreational swim, ice skating, arts and crafts, sports, group games. Limited enrollment. Medical forms are required and must be submitted one month prior to session.
