Lane Closures Monday on Jericho Turnpike

Motorists should expect lane closures beginning Monday on Jericho Turnpike between Park Avenue and Kings Park Road in the Towns of  Huntington and Smithtown.

Closures are expected during both off-peak daytime hours (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and overnight hours (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.). Portable variable message signs have been placed in the area and will have updates regarding closure dates and times.

The stretch of roadway is part of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s priority paving project which was announced last summer.  About 100 miles of state roads on Long Island will be stripped of existing blacktop and replaced with a smoother pavement surface.

Work  is expected to be completed by the end of the year.  As with most road projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather.
