Legislators Salute Huntington Community First Aid Squad

Earlier this month, Suffolk Legislators Tom Donnelly and Susan A. Berland and State Sen. Jim Gaughran honored the   Huntington Community First Aid Squad at its annual installation and inspection dinner.

The gala, which was held on March 2 at Larkfield in East Northport, participants welcomed new officers joining the squad. First formed in 1967, the HCFAS served as an on-duty, in-house crew that responded to calls on a 24/7 basis.

“As a firefighter, I know firsthand how important our ambulance corps are and it was an honor to join and thank the volunteer officers and members of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad at their annual installation and inspection dinner,” Donnelly said. “Day in and day out, they serve the community with a professionalism and dedication that is second to none.”

Along with celebrating new members, the dinner honored Chief Casey Orr, the youngest serving chief in squad history.
