The following letter to the editor has been released by Northport Village Trustee Tom Kehoe regarding the Village’s hiring of a new village administrator:
Dear Damon & Jerry (Oz) Maline & Residents of Northport Village:
As you both have come to realize, the residents are seeing through your total lack of transparency. Your behind-the-scenes maneuvers in hiring are quite something.
The Village Administrator, the highest paid ($105,000 + benefits) Village employee & the person who oversees the largest portion of our budget gets arrested on Government Corruption-Felony charges related to his position as Northport’s Village Administrator, and nothing substantive has changed in the Damon & Jerry Show. It’s business as usual.
Now, without any real management changes that will work, we are about to hire a new Village Administrator, and in my view, not the person who was the most qualified from the pool of applicants — but that’s another story.
Who will oversee the new Administrator? The last Village Administrator reported to the Mayor. Maybe this guy will report to Oz?
