Libraries: Olympic Books, 9/11 Art Exhibit

Public libraries kept busy throughout the Covid-19 epidemic, and they haven’t slowed down as everything reopens. Here are a few of the events happening at libraries around Huntington.

Ready for the Olympics

The Northport-East Northport Public Library suggests  that patrons go for the gold with these Olympic picks, with books about Usain Bolt, Amanda Beard and many others.

Safari Stories

The South Huntington Public Library welcomes the Page Turner Animal Adventures this summer. Every weekday at noon storyologists will present Safari Stories. You can find the videos here:

Community Bags for Commack

Starting in August, every $2.50 Community Bag purchased at the @StopandShop located at 3126 Jericho Turnpike, East Northport, will send a $1 donation to the Commack Public Library.

History and Horticulture on Zoom

Remembering 9/11 Art Exhibit

Registration is underway for Northport-East Northport Public Library patrons to participate in the Library’s Community of Hearts art exhibit. All of the artwork submitted will be displayed in a month long gallery show in September. What is Community of Hearts? In recognition of the many lives impacted 20 years ago on September 11, the library is organizing a community of art exhibit featuring hearts painted on canvases. All ages are invited to take part in this emotive project. Upon registration, participants will receive kits with materials to create their hearts, including paint, brushes, and a 12″ x 12″ canvas. This event is open to Northport-East Northport Public Library cardholders only. Registration can be done in person or online at /

Writing Your Personal Story
