Lidl Grand Opening Set Wednesday in East Northport

The grocery store chain Lidl has scheduled the grand opening of its East Northport store for Wednesday.

The ribbon-cutting for the new store, at 560 Larkfield Road, is set for 7:40 a.m.

Lidl is partnering with the John Theissen Children’s Foundation to raise money for kids in need on Long Island. During the grand opening, Lidl will donate 50 cents to the organization for every new myLidl member who signs up and sets East Northport as their home store.

“We are thrilled to welcome Lidl to East Northport,” said Suffolk County Legislator Susan A. Berland. “Lidl’s expansion into Long Island has brought a wonderful choice in grocery shopping to our area. I wish the new location tremendous success and look forward to the grand opening.”

  • The first 100 customers will be presented with a special gift card ranging from $5 to $100 each.
  • A selfie social media competition outside of the store for a chance to win a $250 prize.
  • A Lidl food truck sampling snacks and juice.

“Having another Lidl in the Town of Huntington is welcome news,” said Town of Huntington Supervisor Chad Lupinacci. “New stores offer consumers more choices, and they create new jobs.  I wish Lidl the best of luck and much success.”

The new store will be Lidl’s seventh store on Long Island.
