Lidl to Open East Northport Store by Summer

The Best Market store at 560 Larkfield Road, East Northport will be converted into a Lidl store by this summer, the company announced Friday. It will be the ninth Lidl store on Long Island.

Lidl bought the Best Market chain in November 2018 and has been making over the stores across Long Island. The Huntington Station property converted to Lidl and reopened in December. Other Lidl stores are in West Babylon, East Meadow, Oakdale, Patchogue, Lake Grove, Plainview,  and Center Moriches. It plans to open 50 more stores on Long Island.

“We look forward to Lidl opening in East Northport this summer. I attended the Huntington Station store opening in December and saw firsthand their commitment to employees and the community,” said Huntington Supervisor Chad Lupinacci. “Lidl will continue to provide Long Islanders with quality jobs and great groceries.”

“We are encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive reviews we have already received from shoppers at Lidl stores across Long Island,” said Johannes Fieber, President & CEO of Lidl US. “Our teams are excited to deliver huge savings for residents in East Northport in terms of price and time. Like our other stores, they will experience fresh choices, convenient shopping and big savings.”
