‘Lift Your Spirit, Take Your Shot’ Boosts Covid-19 Vaccination

Residents age 21 and up who get vaccinated at a Suffolk County point of distribution  in May will receive a ticket for a free drink at participating wineries, distilleries or breweries.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone  announced the “Lift Your Spirit, Take Your Shot” initiative,  to encourage eligible residents to get vaccinated.

Among the participating venues is Del Vino Vineyards in Northport.

Tickets can be used for a free beer, tasting, glass of wine, or cocktail. The choice of beverages varies by establishment.

To date, more than 718,000 Suffolk County residents have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

“With each vaccine, we are one step closer to returning to normalcy,” Bellone said. “While we have made incredible progress this year, with over 700,000 residents vaccinated, we are now nearing the point where supply is beginning to outpace demand. Unprecedented times call for unprecedented measures, and the ‘Lift Your Spirit, Take Your Shot’ initiative provides yet another incentive for our residents to roll up their sleeves and get vaccinated.”

Participating businesses include:

  • Del Vino Vineyards in Northport
  • Raphael Wine in Peconic
