Local Students Achieve Potsdam Honors

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 855 students to the President’s List, in recognition of their academic excellence in the Spring 2018 semester.

The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Kristin G. Esterberg.

To achieve  the President’s List, a student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

  • Kristen Alvy of Commack, whose major is Mathematics
  • Aaron Charlack of Melville, whose major is Chemistry
  • Juliana Jacobsen of Melville, whose major is Literature/Writing
  • Philip Kronenberg of Melville,  whose major is Music Education
  • Matthew Levine of Commack, whose major is Music Performance
  • Wilber Parada of Huntington Station, whose major is Biology
  • Katherine Smith of Dix Hills,  whose major is Music Education
  • George Stewart of Northport,  whose major is Speech Communication
  • Hannah Van Wickler of Northport, whose major is Music Education
  • Christian Verfenstein of Huntington Station, whose major is Music Performance
  • Michael Worshoufsky of Dix Hills, whose major is Music Education

The following students were named to the Dean’s List:

  • Ian McMahon of Commack, who is majoring in Archaeological Studies
  • Lauren Polansky of Commack,  who is majoring in Music Education
  • Julia Schwartz of Commack, who is majoring in Graphic Design and New Media

To be named to  the Dean’s List, a student must have satisfactorily completed 12 numerically-graded semester hours, with a grade point average of between 3.25 and 3.49 in the given semester.
