Local Students Awarded College Degrees

 A total of 707 students received bachelor of arts degrees from College of the Holy Cross during a virtual celebration of the Class of 2020 on May 22.

The live video program, during which graduates received electronic diplomas, featured a special message from director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Holy Cross alumnus Dr. Anthony Fauci ’62.

The virtual celebrations will be followed by an in-person commencement ceremony for the Class of 2020 to be held in spring 2021.

The following local students earned degrees:

Kara McDuffee, of Halesite

Oliver Rapp, of Cold Spring Harbor

Catherine Sappe, of Huntington

University of Tampa

The University of Tampa virtually hosted its 150th commencement on May 9 to honor 1,752 degree-seeking candidates.

The following local students graduated from The University of Tampa.

Sabrina Bedell, of Melville, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in International Business – Marketing.

Danielle Caraturo, of Commack, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Finance.

Dominick Chiechi, of Commack, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Performance.

Samantha Fertig, of Northport, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health.

Amanda Fitlin, of Melville, graduated with a Bachelor Science Nursing in Nursing.

Sabrina Greco, of Huntington, graduated with a Master of Business Administration in Business.

Richard Hogan, of Melville, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management.

Matthew Muszynski, of Huntington, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.

Peder Smith, of Dix Hills, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Film & Media Arts.

Albright College

Juliet Michelle Scott of Huntington earned an Albright College Bachelor of Arts degree, this spring. A graduate of Harborfields High School, Scott studied Environmental Studies at the college.

University of New Hampshire

The following students graduated from the University of New Hampshire in Durham Saturday, May 16, 2020, during a virtual celebration. Students who received the honor of summa cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85-4.0; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.65-3.84; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of 3.50-3.64. Students are only graduated after the Registrar’s Office has certified that all degree requirements have been successfully completed. A traditional, in-person commencement ceremony will be scheduled at a future date yet to be determined.

Courtney Mayer of Huntington Station graduated with a BA degree in Psychology.

Lauren Kreinces of Dix Hills graduated with a BA degree in Psychology.

Nazareth College

Rose Pedretti of Huntington Station graduated Summa Cum Laude from Nazareth College with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a minor in Cognitive Neuropsychology on May 9.

SUNY Potsdam

The following students have graduated from SUNY Potsdam Class
