Local Students Earn Their College Degrees

 

Clark University

Clark University awarded 490 bachelor’s degrees, 501 master’s degrees, and 10 doctorates, and conferred three honorary degrees during the University’s recent commencement ceremonies.

Christopher Thomas Rasco, of Huntington, graduated with a Master of Science in Information Technology .

Kelsey E. Dobler, of Huntington, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Media, Culture and the Arts.

Austin Reda, of Huntington Station, graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

Emily R. Medeiros, of Northport, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish.

The weekend’s events marked President David Fithian’s first Clark Commencement ceremony since he himself graduated from the University in 1987. In his remarks, Fithian praised the persistence shown by this year’s graduating class in transcending the many disruptions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Muhlenberg College

Muhlenberg College’s 173rd Commencement celebrated the Class of 2021 in a pair of socially distanced ceremonies held in downtown Allentown.

Local graduates include:

Jonathan Naness graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in Political Science. Naness is a resident of Dix Hills.

Jack Reilly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance and Business Administration. Reilly is a resident of Cold Spring Harbor.

The first in-person Commencement since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic was also the first Commencement at which graduates’ proud smiles had to be obscured by face masks. But the fact that the ceremonies could take place at all was a welcome turning point after more than a year of having little to celebrate

Ithaca College

The following local students recently graduated from Ithaca College:

Perry Falk of Dix Hills (11746) graduated with a BS in Business Administration.

Antonio Ferme of Huntington (11743) graduated with a BA in Journalism.

Steven Foti of Commack (11725) graduated with a BM in Music Education.

Luke Karen of Huntington (11743) graduated with a BS in Business Administration.

Julia Kucza of Northport (11768) graduated with a BM in Music with Outside Field.

Marc LiMandri of Huntington (11743) graduated with a BS in Clinical Health Studies.

Noah Pincus of Dix Hills (11746) graduated with a BA in Politics.

Emily Ramonetti of Northport (11768) graduated with a BM in Music Composition.

Viktoria Sims of Dix Hills (11746) graduated with a BS in Integrated Marketing Communications.

SUNY Canton

Justin Gardner of Dix Hills earned their Bachelor of Technology in Homeland Security from SUNY Canton. Gardner was among the graduates recognized as part of the class of 2021.

President Zvi Szafran urged graduates to use their knowledge to help their communities rebound after the COVID-19 pandemic at the college’s in-person Commencement Ceremony held May 15.
