The Long Island Fall Festival is underway at Heckscher Park this weekend, with Newton carnival rides, a range of musical acts, food, vendors and more.
It reopens Sunday at 11 a.m. Meanwhile, the Long Island Columbus Day will travel along Main Street, past the park, starting at Park Avenue at noon.
Several candidates for office are expected to march in the parade and then return to the festival to greet voters.
The festival is presented by the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce.
