A Selden man was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated after a three-vehicle crash Monday night in Dix Hills, Suffolk County police said.
Thomas Macy was driving a 2019 Ford van south on Deer Park Road, near the intersection of East Deer Park Road, when he crashed into the back of a southbound SUV at approximately 10:05 p.m., police said. The SUV then crashed into the back of a southbound four-door sedan. The Ford van caught fire and became fully engulfed.
The occupants of the SUV, two women and a man, and another man in the sedan, were transported to Huntington Hospital for evaluation. Macy was not injured.
Macy, 52, was charged with driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Tuesday.
