A man was killed Thursday morning in a two-car crash in Melville. Four other people were injured.
Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives said a 28-year-old man driving a 2000 Subaru Legacy south on Walt Whitman Road collided with a 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter, which was westbound on Express Drive North, at approximately 5:15 a.m.
The driver of the Subaru was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the Mercedes, Daniel Batista, 37, of Selden, and his three passengers were transported by Melville Rescue to Plainview Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks.
