Man Shot at Dix Hills Party; 3 Arrested

A man was shot during an argument that broke out at a large party in Dix Hills Saturday night, Suffolk County police said.

Second Precinct police said at least one round was fired at the party after an argument between several people at the party at 2 Langhans Court. When they arrived in response to a 911 call, police said, a large number of party-goers were fighting outside. Officers responded to the party from other precincts.

The wounded man, who is 34, was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.

The homeowner, Rodney Jones, 45, was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal nuisance.

Travis James, 36, of Brooklyn and Shamel Williams, 35, of Brooklyn were arrested and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest. The three men are scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
