Manning Named Superintendent in Harborfields

Dr. Rory Manning was appointed superintendent of the Harborfields school district Wednesday night.

Manning has been serving as interim superintendent since December, after the departure of Dr. Francesco Ianni. The appointment by the Board of Education is effective immediately.

On Twitter, Manning wrote, “I’m humbled by the opportunity to continue to serve the community I love as the Superintendent of Schools.”

He  served as principal of Harborfields High School from 2012 until 2016, when he became an assistant superintendent.

“The Board of Education is confident that Dr. Manning embodies all of the qualities of leadership needed to not only navigate our school community through the challenging times we are currently facing, but more importantly through his clear vision for taking Harborfields to the next level of educational success.  Equally important in the Board’s decision to appoint Dr. Manning is that he truly understands the Harborfields community and culture and what we value as a Harborfields Family,” the Board of Education wrote in a letter to the school community.

“His experience and knowledge in all aspects of running our district including curriculum, technology, and human resources, coupled with the relationships he has built with staff, administrators, and our parent community, makes him the ideal candidate to permanently serve as Superintendent of Harborfields Central School District,” the board said.
