Two people were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, Northport police said.
Andre Knox, 42, of Huntington Station was arrested April 25 on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
Northport police said Knox was observed operating a 2008 Mazda with an expired inspection sticker. Upon interviewing the driver, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from within the vehicle. There was a clear zip lock bag in the center console of the vehicle containing a green leaf like substance believed to be marijuana. There was also two clear plastic baggies under the drivers seat which contained a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. The defendant was arrested and transported back to police headquarters for processing. The green leaf like substance was field tested positive to contain THC and the white powder was field tested positive to be cocaine. Defendant processed and held pending arraignment.
Shannon Citrin, 20, of East Northport was arrested April 24 on charges of possession of marijuana.
