Marshalls to Open New Store at Huntington Commons

Marshalls will launch its new location at Huntington Commons, formerly known as the Big H, with a day-long grand opening on Thursday.

Moving from its current location nearer the edge of the property, the new store will open at 15B in the primary section of the center, more visible from New York Avenue. It will be next-door to the Shop-RIte, whose opening is expected soon, in a piece of the space once occupied by Kmart. Marshalls will fill 27,000 square feet.

“Our newest store in Huntington will offer an ever-changing selection of high-quality, on-trend, and brand-name merchandise at the amazing prices that Marshalls is known for. We’re excited to bring this experience and exceptional values from fashion and beauty to home and more to a new neighborhood,” said Tim Miner, president of Marshalls. “With thousands of new items delivered to  our stores every day, we strive to provide our shoppers with amazing brands every time they shop.”

As part of the grand opening, the new store will be open from  8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Its usual hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

The store will offer ” an amazing selection of high-quality merchandise in women, men, juniors, kids, shoes, accessories, home, pet, beauty and more,” the company said.

Marshalls said it will contribute to the local community by donating $10,000 to a local charity. Marshalls also has national and local partnerships with charitable organizations around the country including JDRF, Alzheimer’s Association and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

It is looking to  add about 60 full and part-time jobs to the area.

Marshalls operates more than 1,100 stores in 48 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Meanwhile, Shop-Rite, which says it will open soon but hasn’t provided a date, has “now-hiring” signs around the center, and has opened a hiring office in one of the newly renovated retail areas.
