Melville Woman Killed by Bus in Manhattan

A newly wed Melville woman who held a prestigious job as a federal court clerk was struck and killed by a private bus in Manhattan Thursday night, Newsday reported.

Kimberly Greer, 28, clerked for U.S. Magistrate Judge Katharine H. Parker of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

She was struck in a crosswalk on Leonard Street about 5:30 p.m. The bus driver was arrested and charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian and exercise due care, the New York Police Department said.

The New York Times reported her wedding to Michael Singer on Nov. 10.
