Lourdes M. Peña-Aguayo was appointed Tuesday night to the Huntington Board of Assessment Review.
She succeeds Larry Silverman, whose term expired. Her term runs until Sept. 30, 2027.
The board considers complaints about property assessments in the town.
Peña-Aguayo serves as a board member of Housing Help Inc., and is a member of the steering committee of the Huntington Township Housing Coalition.
She was nominated by Town Councilwoman Joan Cergol.
