Menorah Lit to Celebrate Chanukah

A large menorah in downtown Huntington was lit Monday night, marking the second night of Chanukah.

Sponsored by Chabad of Huntington, the celebration included music by Huntington musician Toby Tobias, lighting of the menorah, dancing and handing out of chocolate donuts.

Chanukah is observed for eight nights and days. The Jewish celebration, which is also known as the festival of lights, is observed by lighting the candles of a candelabrum with nine branches. One branch is typically placed above or below the others and its candle is used to light the other eight candles.
