Men’s Clothing Store Closing on Main Street

Change is coming again to the intersection of Main Street and New York Avenue.

J. Ogilvy, a men’s clothing store on the northeast corner of the intersection, is closing.

Peter, a store  manager who declined to give his last name, said  Sunday that the store had occupied 261 Main for about 12 years. Ogilvy will continue to operate in Garden City.

In August, Daniel Gale Sotheby International Realty moved into the former Loft store on the northwest corner.

And three weeks ago, Alkemy, an ice cream shop, opened on the southwest corner, replacing a bakery. The owner, Alan Lacher, says he plans a grand opening soon to celebrate the “ice cream experience” the shop offers.
