MetroPCS Store Robbed at Gunpoint

A metroPCS store in Huntington Station was robbed at gunpoint Thursday night, Suffolk County police said.

It was the second armed robbery of the store this year.

A man entered the store  at 1669 New York Avenue at about 7:15 p.m., showed what  appeared to be a black handgun and demanded cash and cellphones from an employee, police said. The man stole cash, six cell phones from the store and an employee’s Apple iPhone XS, police said.

The robber fled north on New York Avenue, and then west on West 11th Street.

The man is described as white, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall and thin. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded-sweatshirt with a red circular design on the back, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers.
