More Heat, Humidity Throughout the Day

As the heat wave continues Wednesday, the state Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality health advisory effective at 11am.

Ozone levels are expected to be higher than normal.

Individuals who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of
pollutants include the very young and those with pre existing respiratory
problems such as asthma or heart disease are advised to consider limiting strenuous outdoor activities.

The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 94, with a heat index value up to 104.

Temperatures are expected to remain high until about 8 pm. There is a  40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms,  after 9pm.

Adults and children found a variety of ways to cool off Tuesday, including heading to the beaches and to Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Memorial Spray Park.
