Motorcycle, Cars Collide in Front of Dunkin’ Donuts

Updated: A motorcycle and two cars collided Tuesday afternoon in front of the entrance to the Dunkin’ Donuts store on East Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station, the Huntingon Manor Fire Department said.

There was no immediate information about injuries, though the motorcycle appeared to be destroyed. The fire department said that the motorcyclist was stabilized by members of the Huntington Community First Aid Squad and then  airlifted by a Suffolk County police helicopter to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

A relative of the driver of a car stopped in the entrance to Dunkin’ Donuts said the motorcycle was hit by another car and spun into the stopped vehicle.

Police closed Jericho Turnpike from Longfellow Drive east for several blocks.

Drivers were rerouted off Jericho Turnpike or, trying to avoid the crash scene, ended up jamming the streets north of the Lidle shopping center, with many circling and packing streets such as Silver, Sanford, Charmian, and Cook Streets, some of which are dead-ends or loop around.

We will update with more information as we receive it.

  1. The motorcycle was hit by another car which sent the motorcycle and motorcyclist flying into my husband’s car as shown. My husband was stationary waiting to make a turn when this occurred.

    1. is there any further information about the crash your husband knows? the motorcyclist is my friend, he is okay, but is injured pretty seriously. we are trying to figure out how this other person hit him.

  2. If the young lady who stayed with the motorcycle driver right after the accident reads this, THANK YOU you so much for your kindness!!! He remembers you and all you said to him.
