A motorcyclist was killed Saturday night in a crash with an SUV in East Northport, Suffolk County police said.
Gary Skaats was operating a 1998 Honda motorcycle west on Jericho Turnpike, 50 feet west of Verleye Avenue when he crashed into a 2012 Honda SUV attempting to turn left from eastbound Jericho Turnpike into a parking lot at about 9:40 p.m.
The East Northport resident was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the SUV was not injured.
Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
