The MTA announced Thursday morning it is experiencing declines with certain credit cards in the MTA eTix application.
Customers experiencing any issues making a purchase are advised to purchase their tickets using either a ticket machine or ticket window. The MTA said it is working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
The MTA’s mobile ticketing app lets riders purchase and use Long Island Rail Road and Metro-North Railroad tickets directly on their smartphone or mobile device. The free app is available for download from the Apple Store or Google Play. Customers should set up an account before traveling to buy a mobile ticket in advance of travel and activate it before boarding. Once aboard, riders need to have their device with the mobile ticket ready for a conductor to validate.
