MTA Sets Hearing Thursday in Melville

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday in Melville to hear from the public about proposed fare and toll changes. It is one of eight public hearings underway in the region.

“The public hearings are an opportunity for the public to discuss and consider this range of options. Following the public hearings, after considering public comment, the Boards of the MTA and its affiliated agencies will decide which fare and crossing charges to adopt,” the MTA said. “The changes to fares or crossing charges that the Boards adopt may be less than the maximum amounts proposed or may be a combination of the proposals.”

The hearing will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Long Island, 598 Broad Hollow Road,  Melville. Those wanting to speak can register between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
