Dix Hills Man, 74, Found Slain in Home

A 74-year-old Dix Hills man was found murdered in his home, Suffolk County police said Wednesday.

Armindo Reis lived alone in the residence¬† at 22 Penn Drive. When neighbors could not get in contact with him Tuesday, they called his son. When Reis’s son arrived at the residence about 6:15 p.m., he found his father unconscious and called 911.¬† When Second Precinct officers arrived at the scene, they found Reis had been shot.

Reis, 74, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
