The Whaling Museum in Cold Spring Harbor will offer its Narwhal Ball on Sunday, offering a variety of activities to explore the icy world of narwhals and polar sea creatures.
Activities include:
- Creating frosty crafts to take home
- Seeing a narwhal tusk and whale blubber
- Storytime with Elsa
- An arctic scavenger hunt in the galleries
Narwhals live year-round in the frigid waters around Greenland, Canada and Russia.

The Narwhal Ball is just one of several activities this week and next at the museum. During winter break,the museum will continue its Black History: Whaleboat Chats, highlighting its exhibition, Whalers of the African Diaspora, on Tuesday. Also Tuesday and Thursday of next week, the museum will offer its Build a Boat workshops, focusing on African American whalers who designed, built and worked on whaling ships in the 19th century.
