New Chef at Sandbar Collaborates with Master Chef Guy Reuge to Create an Elegant Easter Menu

Sandbar restaurant in Cold Spring Harbor is opening the spring dining season with an Easter Sunday Dinner that highlights Long Island specialties and the culinary expertise of two celebrated Chefs.

Sandbar’s newly appointed Chef de Cuisine, Jon Luc Monteforte, collaborated with award-winning Master Chef Guy Reuge to create an Easter dinner that celebrates the farm-and-sea-to-table cuisine that the Lessing’s Hospitality Group is renowned for since the late 1800s.

The Sandbar is one of Lessing’s most popular restaurants, distinctive for its north shore ambiance and refined, well-executed cuisine. For Easter 2023, Chefs Monteforte and Reuge crafted a menu that combines upscale traditional fare with dishes that present an innovative take on seasonal favorites.  Expertly prepared braised leg of lamb, roasted spring chicken, and marinated steak are offered along with spring panzanella salad, pistachio crusted red snapper with rhubarb puree, halibut with blood orange aji amarillo sauce, and other distinctive menu choices. Long Island specialties are featured including crispy duck tacos, farm fresh vegetables like asparagus and golden baby beets, and local berries with Chantilly cream.

The Sandbar is known for its extensive wine list, with selections of the finest international and Long Island wines and sparkling wines. Signature cocktails are also served, including Bacon Infused Vodka Bloody Marys, Sailawaytinis, and the Whalebone, created by the restaurant’s Head Mixologist Dan Leopold, a front runner in the 2023 LI Battle of the Bartenders.
