New Eagle Scouts Recognized

Several new Eagle Scouts were honored recently by officials who presented proclamations  in recognition of their achievements.

Suffolk County Legislator Susan A. Berland  presented a proclamation and 16th Legislative District Pin to Eagle Scout Nicholas Duchatellier, of Dix Hills, Boy Scout Troop 106’s newest Eagle Scout, at his Court of Honor. Legislator Tom Donnelly gave proclamations to Eagle Scouts Samuel Gosin of Melville and Stefano Agrotis of Melville.

Legislator Dr. William “Doc” Spencer recognized Douglas Clark for his achievement. Douglas planned, fundraised, built and installed 4 cedar benches at Dickinson Avenue Elementary School to provide a place to sit for children near the playground.

Supervisor Chad A. Lupinacci and Councilwoman Joan Cergol honored Eagle Scout Jack Albertson for his outstanding community work and Eagle Scout accomplishment at the Centerport Fire Department on Friday May 11.

As a member of Troop 113,  Albertson has held several leadership positions including Patrol Leader and Quartermaster.  He is also a founding member of the Robotics Club at Harborfields High School.  When he is not building robots or working with his fellow Scouts, Albertson embraces physical challenges.  Recently, Albertson completed a 50-mile hike in 5 days from Harpers Ferry, W. Va., to Gettysburg Battlefield, Pennsylvania, as well as a 75 mile canoe trip up the Allagash River.

At the ceremony,  Lupinacci issued a proclamation to the young scout.
