School districts will get more money this year under the new state budget.
Legislative leaders and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo reached agreement earlier this week on the budget, which raises taxes on the wealthy and corporations.
Huntington school superintendent James W. Polansky said, “The legislature has done formidable work in support of our schools as this year’s budget was finalized. This will help to support our students, families and taxpayers during a time of need. We sincerely thank them for their efforts.”
State Sen. Jim Gaughran said, “In addition, there is $5 million available in this budget bill (S.2503C) for school districts like Northport which may be adversely affected by tax certiorari settlements.”
