New Commack Mom and Baby Get Assist From Cops

Suffolk County police officers helped deliver a baby in Commack Friday morning. 

Officers Walter Fingerle, Kenneth Kaufold, and Douglas Nassifi of the Fourth Precinct responded to a 911 call about 3:15 a.m. from Thomas Geness that his wife was giving birth. The officers arrived and assisted Christine Geness, the full term expectant mother, who gave birth to a baby girl at approximately 3:23 a.m.

Christine Geness, 37, and her newborn daughter were transported to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown by Commack Volunteer Ambulance Corps in good condition.
