Realty President to Be Honored by North Shore Land Alliance

Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty’s President and Chairman, Patricia J. Petersen will be honored at this year’s North Shore Land Alliance Golf and Tennis Outing.

The May 22 “Fore the Love of the Land,” event will be held at the Piping Rock Club in Locust Valley and is sponsored by the North Shore Land Alliance, Inc. – a nationally accredited non-profit land trust founded in 2003 that works to protect and preserve the green spaces, farmlands, wetlands, groundwater and historical sites of Long Island’s North Shore.

Petersen has been a supporter of the organization and under her leadership, real estate advisors and management from Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty, headquartered in Cold Spring Harbor, have worked with landowners and developers to preserve tracts of ecologically sensitive and significant land in the surrounding areas from development.

“The Land Alliance is very grateful to Patricia and her team of professionals,” said Lisa Ott, Land Alliance President and CEO.  “They have been important partners of the Land Alliance since our beginning and were instrumental in protecting some of our most emblematic open spaces from Wawapek in Cold Spring Harbor to Cushman Woods in Matinecock and the Humes Estate in Mill Neck…. It will take all of us working together to maintain the character and environmental quality of this lovely place we are lucky enough to call home.”

Along with her efforts with the Land Alliance, Petersen has been a member of the board of directors at Huntington Hospital for more than 10 years and a philanthropic supporter of it for more than three decades. She also serves on the corporate advisory board of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and actively supports the Heckscher Museum of Art, along with other foundations.

Tickets are available for next month’s event. Registration and breakfast will start at 8 a.m. followed by tennis, lunch and the awards.
