Northport, Huntington Bay Voters Choose Leaders

Herb Morrow was re-elected Tuesday as mayor of Huntington Bay, defeating challenger Michael Frawley.

The vote was 284-251. Two trustees, Don Rave (415) and Jay Meyer (392),were re-elected. The two ran unopposed.

Morrow was first elected as a village trustee in 1993 and  as mayor in 1994.

In Northport with two trustee seats, Trustee Mercy Smith was re-elected with 497, while Dave Weber Jr. got the most votes with 609. Deputy Mayor Jerry Maline, who no longer lives in the village, had 63 votes and Joseph Sabia collected 455 votes as a write-in candidate.

Village elections throughout New York State were postponed from March  because of the Covid-19 epidemic.
