Northport Notes: Farmers Market in June, Pre-K Program Expands

The Northport Farmers’ Market will be opening on Saturday, June 5 and operate every Saturday until November 20 from 8am until 12:30 rain or shine at the foot of Main Street overlooking Northport Harbor. Masks and social distancing will be required. 

Live music will be available every week, and patrons can leave their dogs with a dog sitter while they shop.
 
Universal Pre-K Deadline Extended
The Northport-East Northport school district is expanding the universal pre-k program and extending the deadline to apply because of new funding it anticipates receiving for both half-day and full-day pre-K classes.
 
Students will continue to be chosen by lottery for the free pre-K at one of the district’s Universal Pre-K providers.

 This form must be submitted on-line by no later than noon on April 30. Those who are selected will be notified by mail by May 7.

Virtual Job Fair

The Northport-East Northport Public Library is hosting a Virtual Job Fair April 21, sponsored by the Suffolk County One-Stop Employment Center. A selection of companies from different industries will be available to discuss current job opportunities. Bring your questions. Registration is open at:
