Northport Police: Abandoned Poultry, Marijuana Arrest

Northport police arrested Marvin M. Canales on charges of possession of a forged instrument and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Canales, 26, of East Northport, was arrested Feb.22.

The Northport police also reported the following:

Responded to the incident location for the report of a rooster, left at the farm, by an unknown subject. Upon arrival, the employee who is a volunteer at the location, stated that in addition to the rooster, two chickens were also left at the farm last week. One of the chickens ended up being attacked by a natural predator and died. The employee requested extra patrol from this agency and stated that the volunteers for the farm had begun the process to have surveillance cameras installed on their property.

Responded to the above location for a report of an adult male harassing customers. Undersigned remained on scene until sufficient SCPD units arrived.

An officer responded to the above location for a report of two male walking in the woods. Complainant stated she believed they were hunting deer with a bow. Subject said  he was looking through the woods for antlers but was not hunting. Undersigned did observe that he had a walking stick and not a bow. Subject advised to refrain
from walking in those woods as it was someone’s property. Subject departed area.

Officer responded to a report of intoxicated female trying to drive. Undersigned advised the female that it would be a poor life decision to operate a motor vehicle. Officer assisted the subject in ordering an Uber and remained on scene until it arrived.
