Northport Police Blotter: Aug.13-19

Northport Village police report the following activities during the week of Aug.13-19:

ARRESTS:

08/15
Oliver,Chase,20; COMMACK
BEACH AVENUE
The defendant was observed sitting in the driver seat of a 2016 Honda, while it was parked on Beach Avenue. When the officer passed the vehicle, a strong smell of burnt marijuana emanated from the vehicle. When questioned, the defendant stated “we were smoking weed.” A small quantity of a green leafy material that field tested positive for marijuana was found to be in the defendant’s possession. Mr. Oliver was issued a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana, and directed to appear for court on October 1, 2018 at 1900 hours for arraignment.

Gross, Joshua, 20; COMMACK
BEACH AVENUE
The defendant was observed sitting in the passengers seat of a 2016 Honda, while it was parked on Beach Avenue. When the officer passed the vehicle, a strong smell of burnt marijuana emanated from the vehicle.A small quantity of a green leafy material that field tested positive for marijuana was found to be in the defendants possession. Mr. Gross was issued a field appearance ticket in lieu of arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana, and directed to appear for court on October 1, 2018 at 1900 hours for arraignment.

SCUDDER AVE
While on patrol, the officer was advised by an anonymous complainant of a suspicious male pushing a shopping cart up Scudder Avenue. Upon interviewing the subject, he stated that he was coming from a friend’s house and asked if the officer had anything better to do. The subject was advised to return the cart to Stop and Shop as it may be considered stolen should management deem so. No further action necessary.

SEA COVE RD
Responded to the above location for a report of a male laying in the road. Upon arrival it was determined the male was intoxicated and was found by a passing motorist. Northport Rescue responded and transported the aided to Huntington Hospital.

SAINT PHILLIP PARISH CENTER, PROSPECT AVE
Above complainant came into headquarters to report above subject threatening him. Complainant states he and the above subject have been having verbal disputes recently and on this date the subject stated to him “I will make you sleep forever.” The complainant wished to have this documented for informational purposes at this time.

MAIN ST
Registered owner and spouse did respond to Headquarters to report losing their front license plate (ESH9636) between August 11,2018 and August 18,2018. MV78B and larceny affifdavit prepared and digitally attached to blotter. Registered owner advised that process of reporting cannot be completed until remaining license plate is surrendered. Registered owner stated he would surrender the plate tommorow and respond back to Headquarters with the receipt.

FEED & GRAIN RESTAURANT, MAIN ST
Responded to the incident location for a report of a loose parakeet. Upon arrival, the bird was captured and the listed property owner was located.
