Northport Police Blotter: August 6-12

Northport Village police report the following:

INCIDENTS:

08/06

ASHAROKEN AVE
Responded to the incident location to assist Asharoken Police locate a missing suicidal male. The officer remained on scene till the subject was located.

MAIN ST
Responded to the above location for a report of an unknown male screaming at the complainant. Upon arrival, the male was gone.  Apparently, the complainant is manning a political information booth at this time and the unknown male strongly opposes her views. Nothing observed or reported appears to rise to the level of criminal activity. Incident documented at the complainant’s request.

HARBOR POINT RD
Responded to the listed location for a loose dog that was brought back to the residents home. Upon arrival the officer met with the listed person interviewed who is a in home nanny that stated the resident who lives there left for a doctors appointment and left the door open allowing the dogs to get out. The dogs were secured inside the home, no further police action necessary.

HIGHLAND AVE
Responded to the listed location for damage to a parked vehicle.

EARL AVE
Responded to the incident location for the report of residential construction making loud noise. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with the listed subject who was performing construction work at the home. The subject was advised about the sound ordinance to which he stated he will comply with. No further action necessary.

DORIS CT
The  complainant responded to Northport Police headquarters to report that her juvenile daughter has been receiving unwanted messages on her instagram account. The screen name she received the message from were “Wasssahh.99”. The complainant was advised to block this subject from her account and if received any other messages from the acount or a similar account to contact this agency. The officer, with the Northport Police instagram account sent a direct message to “Wasssahh.99” to contact this agency and cease sending messages. No further police action required.

JAY CT
Complainant into Headquarters to report a case of identity theft. See case for details.

NAUTILUS AVE
Responded to the incident location for a report of an attempted scam over the phone. Upon arrival, the complainant stated he received a phone call by an unknown subject claiming to be his grandson who was in an accident and needed money. The complainant stated he immediately hung up the phone and called his grandson who stated he wasn’t in an accident and didn’t call him looking for money. Complainant stated he is satisfied filing this report for informational purposes.

DORIS AVE
Complainant into Headquarters to report a domestic incident. Complainant states he is in the process of a divorce. Complainant further states he had an argument through text messaging with his wife on this date. they were arguing and accusing each other of having extra marital affairs. The complainant stated his wife texted him that she is going to call the Northport Police Department regarding their arguing. The complainant stated his wife travels for work and the texting argument took took place this date, while she is in Atlanta, Georgia. The complainant stated he is filing this report for informational purposes only. A New York Domestic Incident Report was prepared, faxed to VIBS and attached hereto.

CHURCH ST
The above caller responded to Northport Police Headquarters to report that her juvenile daughter has been receiving unwanted text messages from another juvenile. The officer attempted to contact the parent of the juvenile but was unable to. The complainant wanted a report for informational purposes. No criminal offense occurred. No further police action required.

SEAVIEW TERR
Responded to the above location for a report of missing or moved items from the house. Upon arrival the caller states that her apple laptop, pocketbook, her daughters I-pad and daughters birth control had been moved around the house. Report held for informational purposes at this time.

SUMMIT AVE
Responded to the above location for a Death Investigation.

08/09

MAIN ST
Responded to the incident location for a report of an adult female suffering injuries from a fall. Upon arrival the aided stated the reason she fell down on the sidewalk in front of the driveway to The Feed and Grain is partially due to her high heel shoes and partially due to stepping on a pebble.

CVS PHARMACY, FORT SALONGA RD
Responded to the incident location for a report of a possible larceny. Upon arrival the store manager stated he has caught the subject stealing merchandise from the store in the past. The complainant stated he doesn’t want the subject in the store anymore and would be satisfied preparing a trespass affidavit. A trespass affidavit was prepared, attached hereto and placed on the board in the squad room. A master name trespass affidavit entry was made. Trespass affidavit valid to August 9, 2019. The subject was advised a trespass affidavit is in effect prohibiting him license or privilege to enter the store in the future.

VILLAGE PARK, CONSTITUTION SQ
The below property was turned into Northport Police Headquarters. The owner of the property was notified through his TD Bank account. Property held at the desk for retrieval:

STANTON ST
Responded to the above location for a report of an unknown vehicle parked in from of her home for hours. Upon arrival the operator stated he was just listening to the music in the park and waiting for a friend.

HOLLACHER DR
Responded to location for a dispute between a father and daughter. The father stated his daughter snuck out of the house and went to a friends house. During the argument the daughter called her mother. The mother heard her ex husband yelling so she called 911 and responded to his residence. The officer spoke with all parties who agreed the daughter will go to her room without her phone for the night. DIR attached and faxed to VIBS.

08/10
VILLAGE PARK VISITOR CENTER, CONSTITUTION SQ
Responded to the incident location to report of a possible run away. On arrival, the listed caller reports that a group of youths advised her that a known friend of theirs was seen wearing pajamas and slippers in the village park. They also advised her that they heard he ran away from his residence recently. The officer canvassed the area with negative results. The officer responded to the subjects residence to speak with his father at 1 Hallacher Drive. On arrival, the father(intoxicated) was aware that his son has not been home for the past day and a half, nor does it appear he made an effort to look for his son as he was currently hosting a party at his residence. The father did not seemed concerned of his where about at this time and stated if we come across his son please bring him home. The officer will continue to search for the juvenile subject. The officer did make referral to CPS as per Sgt Bakker. No further at this time. CPS form complete and scanned into folder.

08/12

MAIN ST
Responded to the above area for a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in the road. The officer canvassed the area but was unable to locate the subject. The bartender at Feed and Grain stated she knew the subject and she asked him to leave and go home.

VILLAGE PARK, CONSTITUTION SQ
Responded to the above location for a report of the restrooms flooding. Headquarters notified Northport Village Highway Department who responded and was able to shut the water off.
