Nov. 6 Countdown: Molinaro at Forum

Republican gubernatorial candidate Marc Molinaro will participate in a forum Saturday in Huntington Station.

The Suffolk County Town Hall will run from 11 a.m. to noon at the VFW Hall on Pulaski Road.

Molinaro, 42, is the Dutchess County executive and is campaigning against Gov. Andrew Cuomo on the Nov.6 ballot.

ON THE BALLOT

Avrum Rosen of Centerport will replace Michael Marcantonio as the Democratic Party’s candidate against  Assemb. Andrew Raia in the state 12th Assembly District.

Marcantonio was knocked off the ballot when Raia’s supporters challenged his candidacy because he had voted twice in North Carolina while a student at Duke University. State courts ruled that the meant he hadn’t met the five-year residency rule to run in New York.

PRIMARY DAY
The state’s primary election will be on Thursday Sept. 13, this year, moved from the usual Tuesday schedule. The move was made to avoid a conflict with Sept. 11 and the many solemn, commemorative events scheduled for that day.
