Oheka Castle Featured in Fox Nation Series

Oheka Castle is featured as part of a series Fox Nation series that will be available online as of Monday.

Hosted Jeanine Pirro,a former prosecutor turned Fox News host, the five-part Castles series will explore American estates, their history and their opulence.

The episodes are:

Episode 1: The Breakers

Built as a “summer cottage” for Cornelius Vanderbilt II, The Breakers sits on the coast of Newport, R.I. The Italian Renaissance style mansion offers a glimpse into the opulence of the Gilded Age.

Episode 2: Hammond Castle

Sitting high overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Hammond Castle brings together a unique combination of art, architecture and culture. Built in the late 1920s for scientist and inventor John Hays Hammond Jr., this New England coastal gem was modeled after true European style castles.

Episode 3: Fonthill Castle

Built in the early 1990s, Fonthill was the home of Henry Chapman Mercer. This castle is a mix of Medieval, Gothic, and Byzantine architectural styles and is nestled in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

Episode 4: Beardslee Castle

Built for Augustus Beardslee in 1860, this limestone structure resembling an Irish castle is set in the heart of the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York. Although suffering major fires, the current ownership has restored it to all its former glory.

Oheka is featured in episode 5.  The Huntington estate turned hotel was built between 1914 and 1919 by Otto Herman Kahn (the estate name is drawn from the first two letters if his names). Long Island developer Gary Melius bought it in 1984 and turned it into a luxury hotel and wedding/event space.
