The holiday season is fast approaching, with boat and street parades, road runs, Menorah and Christmas tree lightings, the arrival of Santa and more.
The Huntington Holiday Spectacular gets underway Nov. 27 on Wall Street and continues through Jan. 2, featuring music, lights and some surprises. Businesses will be offering special deals. Wall Street between Main Street and Gerard Street will be closed from Nov. 20 through Jan. 14. This is sponsored by Huntington Hospital Northwell Health and the Town of Huntington, the Huntington BID, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce, Looks Great Services and The Paramount.

Thanksgiving Day Charity Run
The four-mile Thanksgiving Day Chairty Run will set off at 9 am from the American Legion Hall on Mill Dam Road, preceded by a family one-mile fun run at 8:30 am. Proceeds from this run are used by the Townwide Fund to present grants to local agencies that provide vital health and human services to the Huntington community.
The Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society is sponsoring a boat parade Friday Nov. 26 at 6 p.m.
Prizes are awarded in 10 categories: Best in Show, Best Sailboat, Best Powerboat, Best Corporate Boat, Best Theme Boat, Most Creative, Most Elegant, Most Outrageous, and Best Music & Animation and Free Style. There is a $50 boat registration fee.
The parade of boats can be viewed from several points on shore.

Northport Tree Lighting and Caroling
The Northport Chamber of Commerce and Northport Fire Department are sponsoring a tree lighting and caroling at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Village Park.
The town of Huntington is sponsoring its 11th annual Red, White and Blue electric holiday parade and tree lighting Nov. 27 starting at 5:30 p.m.
Grand marshals include Huntington Hospital healthcare workers, first responders from every fire and EMS district in Huntington, Bill Harris and the Huntington Blue Devils baseball team, the Walt Whitman High School kickline, with the lighting of an 80-foot tree to follow. Food, music and Santa.
Local small businesses took a beating during the epidemic. You can help get them back in shape by shopping locally.
A parade of cars begins at Chabad of Mid-Suffolk in Commack at 6 PM Nov. 28 and concludes with a grand menorah lighting at The Chai Center at 6:45 PM.
The celebration includes music, fire and juggling show, donuts, latkes and fun for the whol family.
The Chai Center is at 501 Vanderbilt Parkway Dix Hills.
The menorah on Wall Street in Huntington will be lit at 5 p.m. The public is welcome.
