The state Department of Transportation said that the eastbound Long Island Expressway will be closed to traffic at Exit 52 (Commack Road/Suffolk County Route 4) in Huntington Thursday, between 9:30 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Workers will be conducting bridge maintenance at Commack Road/Suffolk County Route 4, weather permitting. Traffic will be detoured onto the South Service Road.
Motorists are urged to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
