The annual Huntington Lighthouse Parade of Lights brought crowds to the chilly edge of Huntington Harbor Saturday night as boats motored by in review.
If the temperatures weren’t enough of a reminder, the many boats displaying a Christmas theme served as a hint that the holiday isn’t far off.
Youngsters yelled “Merry Christmas!” as boats passed by or commented on the music, colors and decorations of the vessels. Boat occupants waved or sang as they passed the crowds.
The boat parade is a creation of the Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society, which awards prizes in 10 categories, including most creative, most elegant and most outrageous.
The annual parade first got underway in 2010.
