Parades Honor Americans Lost to Wars

Memorial Day parades around Huntington on Monday drew spectators  as high school bands, veterans, politicians, Scouts and firefighters marched in honor of those lost to America’s wars.

The parade in downtown Huntington featured both Huntington and Walt Whitman High School bands, and firefighters from different departments marching together.  Other parades stepped off in East Northport, Elwood/Commack, Northport, Greenlawn and Centerport.

Town Councilman Edmund Smyth served as emcee, speaking from the podium as groups marched by.
