Part of Elwood Road Closed for Tree Clearing

The Huntington Highway Department will be temporarily closing a section of Elwood Road to traffic between Bellerose Avenue and Dickinson Avenue in East Northport from 9:30 am to 2:pm Thursday.

The Highway Department will be removing hazardous trees and snapped limbs resulting from the June 30 windstorm.

“Thank you for your patience while we perform this necessary maintenance work on our storm damaged trees,” Highway Superintendent Kevin S. Orelli said.

“The Highway Department will close the roadway off to thru-traffic, but will open the roadway for first responders and local law enforcement.”
